Noah Hartman, eighty years old, lies sick in a hospital bed recounting his life of love and loss to Josh, a wise and compassionate orderly who stopped in to bring him dinner. As Noah’s loved ones arrive one by one to see him, they listen in on his story, and we’re transported back in time to Noah’s younger years.

Though outwardly seeming to have it all, Noah, now thirty-five, is actually an empty, lost, and broken man running on automatic pilot. He has no true identity due to having allowed his powerful, wealthy parents to manipulate, control, and brainwash him from a young age. With the threat of disinheritance and withholding love and approval if he doesn’t comply with the plan they have for his life, Noah is lured in by the reward of great wealth and the illusion of running the family business empire some day. In truth, however, Noah is like a regular, everyday guy living a life that was not meant for him.

Enter Robin, twenty-five years old, who — in direct contrast to Noah — is a vivacious, free spirit. Full of life and always living in the moment, Robin’s love saves Noah by inspiring him to stand up to his parents and live his own life at all costs, reclaiming his true self.

While snorkeling in the Caribbean, the captain of the boat warns them not to disturb anything in the sea. Ignoring the exhortation, Noah dives down and snags a sand dollar from the ocean floor, whereupon it explodes in his hand. With the fragile sand dollar taking on new significance, Robin inexplicably leaves Noah shortly after returning from their vacation. Like a passing breeze, she disappears out of his life without a trace, seemingly forever.

Years pass, and Noah still can’t get her out of his mind and out of his heart. After all, she’d always be the one who got away, the one he loved the most. That’s when he finds out about her hidden secret, an underlying condition responsible for her disappearance. Noah has no choice but to move on with his life without her, meeting Sarah at the premiere of SAND DOLLAR, the movie he wrote about his time with Robin.

Years later, it’s Noah and Sarah’s wedding day, and Robin discovers a clue that Noah had surreptitiously inserted into the movie, inspiring her to race to the wedding to try to stop it. With the wedding in shambles, the scene jumps back to present day, with both Robin and Sarah placed in Noah’s hospital room. But which one did he choose?

Things are definitely not as they appear as Noah discovers a far greater truth about the past, present, and future. As Noah finishes telling his story, we are brought up to present day, where the pieces of a shattered love are put back together in the remarkable final chapter of his life.

Layla Kendall is the oldest of three sisters. She’s a burned out social worker one step away from a major depression and she needs a fresh start. When she and her sisters Kit and Jane inherit their grandmother’s bakery, she doesn’t know if she can trust her good fortune or not. Life has taught her that happiness is just an illusion. But the chance to be with her sisters and get away from the heart ache and pain she’s faced day in and day out is a chance she’s going to take. The fact that they don’t know anything about running a bakery won’t stop them. With Layla’s new life, come new connections and friendships including Michael Bender, a single dad and someone who wouldn’t mind getting to know Layla better. She doesn’t trust men and she doesn’t want to change her mind but Michael’s little girl Stella grabs her by the heart and won’t let go. When Layla and her sisters realize that there are people who want to see them fail, it will take a lot of heart and courage to keep going. Layla will have to let go of the past in order to grab onto the future if she’ll ever find the love she needs.

Has anyone ever ordered tea from this company? Adagio A fan page that I follow, (sadly I don’t remember what the fan page was 😦 ) posted a picture of Harry Potter themed tea, so I had to check it out. I am not a big fan of tea, but I really want to give good tea a chance. I’ve tried several different types that I’ve bought from the grocery store. And they are just awful.  A family reunion I went to at Amish country when I lived up north had the best tea. I drank 3 cups while I was there, it was the best. I believe it was some type of apple tea, and I have bought every type of apple tea that I can find.

And maybe another reason I want to try this tea is their awesome themed teas. I am a big nerd, and I love the fact that they have Harry Potter, Hunger games and Trueblood themed teas.

I also just searched some of their other signature teas, any Doctor Who fans out there? Tardis tea

My husband thinks I am a little crazy for ordering tea since I am not a huge fan, and he is most likely correct. But I am going to order it anyways. hehe Now I just have to pick between Harry Potter tea, or Trueblood tea.

For those of you who have Smartphone’s, what apps do you find yourself addicted too?

For me, it’s a few different things…

First off my kindle app, I get emails daily about the free EBooks’ that are available, and it never fails there’s at least 1 (okay maybe all of them) that I just have to download. It’s really kind of insane. The last time I checked I had something like 400 books on my kindle. But, somehow I never can find something I want to read, which causes me to have to buy a new book. I have a goal to read 20 books this year, which gives me the perfect excuse to keep downloading more books. Anyone else like this? I truly have a problem. Hehe But, I guess it could be worse.

Next up Candy Crush… I’d just like to say you’re a big meanie to who ever sent me a request on this game. This game pretty much took over my Angry Birds game addiction. I could sit and play for HOURS which is what happens because I have like 40+ friends who also play and send me lives. It’s like their feeding my drug addition… Hmm… Maybe I should change that to candy addition? It’s kind of funny because at work I can talk to random strangers about candy crush since a good portion of the people I come into contact with play the game. It’s funny how frustrated some people (myself) get when they can’t beat a level.

Pinterest… Ugh … Like, it wasn’t bad enough that every time I got on my laptop I was glued to Pinterest half of the (all) night. If you don’t already know,I love to make arts and crafts, so this website is pure evil. And now I have the app on my phone and anytime I have a few minutes I’m searching for what I want to make next. Well, for the few minutes that I’m not playing candy crush I’m on this app… Even opening Pinterest long enough for me to take this picture was hard. I pinned like 6 things!

Those are the main 3 apps that seem to keep me busy every free second I have, which usually is not a lot, but gosh those off days sometimes I’ve got to fight with myself to get things done and stay away from my phone.

I’d really love to hear what apps are your favorites! 🙂

P.S. My husband and I went to the book store today and I got 3 more books. Haha I seriously am a nerd. ❤

Don’t forget to visit me on Facebook!

Why I’ve been gone.

Hey everyone if your still out there,

I am really sorry about being gone for quite sometime, life has been very busy and due to it being so busy I haven’t been working on my jewelry as much, and seeing as this is a blog about my jewelry I haven’t had anything to post about. I haven’t made anything new it quite some time also. 😦

That being said, I am going to rework this blog into a blog about whatever I am currently working, whether it be cooking, jewelry, cleaning, what’s going on with my work, or the new book I am reading. Basically anything and everything that I do daily. I really think this is going to be a great change!

I am going to be a way a bit longer, I want to get everything in order and take the time to change the blog around to better reflect the changes I plan to make. I do hope that you will stick with me, I know that I am going to have a blast sharing more of the things I do. I do far more then just make jewelry, cooking is one of my biggest passions and so I foresee TONS of recipes, and my reactions to the good and the bad things that I cook! 🙂

So please join me on this ride and if you would send me what you would like to see in the future, I’d really love the feed back!

I hope you have a great day, I am going to get to work now on the changes!

A little something about me

I thought id share this funny post I had written for my personal blog, it just makes me giggle! no jewelry in this post, but the next for sure!

I hope this makes you giggle! 🙂 Or at least smile.

So I’ve had Corel Paint Shop Pro x4 for over a year now, and let me tell you I am still as horrible at it as I was when I first bought it. I am great at following the tutorials and I do something once, and it looks good but then I struggle to do it again (without finding the tutorial again). And worst of all I know what I want to do but don’t know what to call it so I can maybe find a tutorial on it. Ugh. So. Freaken. Frustrating!!!

And when I get frustrated this happens…

I don’t even know how I did that… what in the world did I do to make those line things. -_- What was I trying to do? I was trying make the photo lighter(I think) I am not even sure if that’s what to call it… I wanted to be able to make the picture look faded like so I could write over top of the photo. Does that make sense? See what I mean, I don’t even know what to call what I want to do. And as you can see pressing random buttons doesn’t help. haha You can laugh at me its okay. I am pretty sure that my dog could do better then that I did with that picture… He does try and walk on my keyboard, maybe I should let him next time… I may learn a thing or two. Who knows.

So just as I am about to call myself a failure when it comes to psp I find a tutorial and do this…
Black and white pop color

Which was one of those things I was wanting to learn how to do, and didn’t know what to call it. So thank you to the wonderful, amazing, awesome, person who made the tutorial that I randomly came across (sorry I didn’t pay attention to the name of the person who made it, I’ll look again for it later) that gave me the ability to do this. And actually it wasn’t hard.

Which again frustrates me with what happened with the earring photo. I was told when I bought this version of psp that it was easy to use, and I have found that yes when you have an idea of what your doing, it is easy to use. Very easy really. But if you are a psp moron like myself everything is hard really really hard. haha. I feel like maybe I am just missing something, that one day I am going to stumble onto the holy grail of psp tutorials and suddenly I will be editing pictures for everyone, but until then I will keep googling and pouting as I make a big mess of my photos. Thankfully there is always an undo button!

Am I alone in being psp clueless? If so care to share you wisdom with me? I’d love the help.

Love the psp moron,

Bracelet part 2

And finally part 2 to my bracelet tutorial. This bracelet is very time consuming, which is why this post wasn’t out last week. I tried as hard as I could to get the bracelet finished, and it just wasn’t happening. It was a crazy week. But enough of that, here is what you’ve been waiting on!

I did manage to take a picture of my bracelet while I was working on it.

IMG_2403 Now that you’ve taken your loops all the way up to your clasp. Here comes the fun part. Weaving in your tail.

The best way to do this is to go back through your loops and create half hitch knots. I tried very hard to get a picture of this but I said wasn’t able to do it and it make sense. And I was unable to find a video to show you how to do this, so I am going to explain it the best that I can.

First take your needle back down through several of your beads in one loop. Then you are going to take your needle, then you are going to take your needle under the loop and create a loop around the work. Take your needle and past it through the loop and pull this will cause the thread to go down between the beads and will keep your work together.

I drew this horrible picture to try and explain the knot better. The black like is your beads, the blue line is your needle and thread. This picture is what it should look like right before you pull the thread tight.

Keep doing this after every couple of beads. You do not need to go back through a lot of loops, just create half hitch knots until you feel like your tail is not going to come loose. I usually create 5-6 half hitch knots and then cut off the excess thread. Then take a lighter or a thread burner and melt the thread. Be careful not to get the beads to hot this could cause all your hard work to fall apart. (Believe me Its horrible when it happens)

And now if I haven’t completely confused you this is what your finished bracelet should look like!

These are two bracelets I did a while back.

I hope this helped, if you have any questions, or want to show me your work please comment here, facebook, or email me.

I’d love to hear from you!

Bracelet tutorial part 1

Earlier this week I promised I’d do a bracelet tutorial, its a little late in the day, but never the less here it is! 🙂

This tutorial will be broken up in to two parts, due to the fact it takes so long to finish the bracelet. You’ll see why it takes a while soon. But don’t worry it is still an easy, and fun bracelet to make.

I did NOT come up with the idea for this bracelet, sadly I cannot remember who did. If you know who did, please let me know I’d love to give credit where credit is due.

Supplies, these are just what I used, you can use a different clasp. I’ve seen several cute ones made with buttons.

To get started, cut off at least a foot and a half of fireline. It takes a lot of thread to make this bracelet.

Step 1) If you are using a clasp like mine thread an 8/0 seed bead first, then your flower. Then slide them both down to the end of your piece of fireline.

Step 2) Tie both strands of fire line together so that the clasp doesn’t fall off.

Step 3) Now string your 8/0 seed beads until the bracelet can fit around your wrist. You may want to make it a little on the big side so that after you add your loops the bracelet is not to tight. Also make sure you end with an even number of beads. (if you don’t, don’t worry this bracelet is very forgiving)

Step 4) Take your 11/0 seed beads and create a loop big enough to fit around your clasp.  Take your needle down through the first two 8/0 seed beads.

Step 5) Thread 6 11/0 seed beads, 1 8/0 seed beads, and 6 more 11/0 seed beads.

Step 6) Take your needle and bring it down through the top of the two 8/0 seed beads you exited in the last step.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 using the same to 8/0 seed beads 6-8 more times. This is how full mine looks after 6 loops. (You can do as many or as few loops as you’d like. I usually like mine to look pretty full.)

Step 7) After creating as many loops as  you want, move to the next two 8/0 seed beads. Just like before take your needle down through the beads, then repeat step 5 and 6 until you’re happy with the fullness.

Step 8) Repeat steps 5 through 7 until you have used all of the 8/0 seed beads.

Next week I will explain how to finish off the bracelet. Have fun with this bracelet, play around with different number of looks. This bracelet is very forgiving, but is beautiful when finished.

Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I didn’t make something clear. I will be more than happy to help.
